Bra price in Pakistan: what you're really paying for
A bra from a market stall and a bra from a brand can look alike on the hanger. The difference shows up a month later — in how it fits, how it washes, and whether you still reach for it. Here's what the price is actually paying for.
What changes the price
- Sizing — a bra made in real band and cup sizes needs many more patterns and far more stock than one made in S, M and L. That's the biggest single difference.
- Fabric — microfibre and combed cotton hold their shape and breathe; cheap synthetics pill, stretch and trap heat.
- Construction — a firm underband, lined cups and smooth seams take more time to make and are what support actually comes from.
- Elastic and hooks — the parts that wear out first. Good elastic keeps a band firm for months instead of weeks.
Cost per wear
A bra you wear three times a week for a year is worn around 150 times. Divide the price by that and a well-made bra in your real size often costs less per wear than a cheap one that loosens in a month and ends up at the back of the drawer.
How to tell a good bra, before you pay
- It's sold in band and cup sizes, not just S M L.
- The band is firm and level; the straps aren't doing all the work.
- The seams are smooth inside and the cups don't wrinkle.
- There's a real exchange if the size is wrong.
